My Goal: My goal has always been to offer elegant, affordable photography. To stop time, just for a moment, and preserve those playful moments, devious smiles, funny hairdos, pudgy thighs and gummy grins. I want to capture the essence and personality of every child {and adult} I photograph and create lasting memories for the entire family.

My Style: I want to tell a story with my photographs and to capture moments that will never happen again. I do this using a combination of lifestyle and black and white photography. I feel that props and over posing are taking over and taking away from the purpose of photography today.  My goal this year is to simplify and take more genuine photographs; photographs that tell YOUR story, not someone else’s.

My History:  As a wife and mother, I have always loved taking pictures. Photography is something that fulfills me and enriches my life. Even better, I discovered that it also allowed me to bring joy to others, capturing moments for them that can be cherished for the rest of their lives. That is what inspired me to create J. Joy Photography – the opportunity to capture not just snapshots, but memories of times that while perhaps hectic and overwhelming, are beautiful and touching.
